REN started teasing the beauty world with whisperings of this product back in October 2013, it was probably one of the most hyped releases of the year when REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial finally went on sale in July 2014. The REN team took their time making sure the product and packaging were right and it has paid off because Flash Rinse feels chic and polished. Of course I waited patiently until I found a discount code I could use to buy it!

The reason this has been such a highly anticipated product is because it contains a high concentration of stabilised Vitamin C, 10% to be exact. Vitamin C is a tricky thing to work with because it is chemically unstable and pretty much everything causes it to break down – it is becomes useless after contact with air, water and light. The clever people at REN have managed to make it work through, and Flash Rinse is designed to help transform your skin in just 60 seconds by neutralising urban grey (i.e. trapped sebum and pollution), removing dead skin cells and boosting collagen. Flash Rinse also contains frankincense to smooth fine lines and magnesium to boost radiance.

REN products are always luxurious and Flash Rinse is no different. The product is a pale mint coloured grainy paste – the suspended Vitamin C gives it the gritty texture. You apply the product onto your dry face and neck (with dry hands), then add a few drops of water to activate the Vitamin C, massage for one minute then rinse thoroughly. The scent of the product is a cross between sherbet and orange juice, which I quite enjoy!

The idea of Flash Rinse is fast results, and after trying it out myself I am happy to say that although it’s not a miracle worker (you won’t become J.Law sorry), it does give my skin an instant boost which is perfect for a treatment before a party or big event, or to perk up tired, “morning after” skin. If you’re after toned, radiant and smooth skin (who isn’t?) then this is one to try – Marie Claire UK and Space NK are teaming up to give away free 15ml samples so check the December issue out!

Of course this is REN so you can be sure there are no parabens, sulfates or other nasties. Flash Rinse is not suitable if your skin is prone to sensitivity. It can be used every three days and gives immediate results as well as improving skin in the long term. It is a bit of a pricey up front cost at £32 but you should be able to get around 20 uses out of the tube.
